Here at sweatshop Studios (www.sweatshopstudios.com) we started SundyJam. On the first and third Sundays of the month we get together for an afternoon jam. We are located in Katonah (Westchester) NY. Jazz - Funk - and everything between.
We got Hammond B3 w/ Leslie, Grand piano, Yamaha Motif 8, Yamaha Drums (bring your own symbols).

Trumpets Jazz Club hosts two jams each month: the second and fourth Thursdays from 7:30 pm-11:30 pm. The second Thurs. of month is hosted by trumpeter Ted Curson. There is a trio provided, but you can substitute regulars, if you play piano, bass and drums. We usually get mostly instrumentalists and seasoned vocalists at that jam. The fourth Thurs. is hosted by pianist Betty Liste, who is backed by bass and drums. It is a Singers' jam, but instrumentalists are welcome to sit-in with singers. This jam is ideal for beginning singers, as well as professional singers who want to try out a few new tunes with a live band. Betty is a terrific accompanist. This jam also begins at 7:30 and ends at 11:30. $10 cover (to pay for back-up band) $5 min. We tried making it free, but didn't get enough support to pay the band and we want to keep this going. If anyone knows of corporate sponsorship, please let me know. I'd love the jam sessions to be free.

Cecils, in West Orange on Tuesdays.

1st Monday of every Month there is Vando Jam at Delta's in New Brunswick.

Puffin Cultural Center in Teaneck has jams on some Fridays and Mondays, but check their website for more info, http://www.puffinfoundation.org/forum/forum_new/about.html.

They all have amps, drumsets, everything you might need.

Every thursday Cecil has a Blues Jam Session.
If you just want to listen to some good live music, theres the 17 piece Big Band on Monday.

The cover charge is only $7.00 on mondays, $5.00 on tuesdays and thursdays.
No cover if you are going to participate in the jam!
