As you listen to the smooth swaying of these musical masters, notice how the everchanging shadows and highlighting support the mood. Can you tell which direction the lights are coming from? Can you tell how many are being used? Can you tell when they change? Everything is so subtle, it pulls you into the scene. This is an excellent correlation of light and sound, simple yet effective. The unsung master in this video is the videographer.

Read my review of the resurgence of one of the hottest funk bands in history. MANDRILL, as they appeared at the B. B.King Grill & Blues Club in Times Square, New York City (August/2011). The article appears in the Oct. 6, 2011 edition of Lee Bailey's EURWEB.com Electronic Urban Report

‎*Didn’t somebody say mandrills are on the endangered species list? Well, neither poacher nor old age pension has cornered the Mandrill I know...*

For those of us who were avid watchers, for those of us who can remember, even for those of us who were not born yet, New York's PBS channel 13 (WNET-TV) had it's soul version of The Ed Sullivan Show. It was aptly named "SOUL" with legendary host Ellis Haizlip and (radio personality) Jerry Bledsoe. A vast number of artists, whose names became revered through the generations to follow, passed through this porthole. Please, do yourself educational justice and view the link below. If you didn't know, now you know!

Heads Up! Anybody here know a guy by the name of STEVIE RAY VAUGHN? Just another example of the visual side of music. In this video, "Little Wing" Vaughn exhibits total command of his instrument and maneuvers the feedback with ease. Enjoy.
