About Dave....

http://www.fieldsmusic.com | http://www.davefields.com

“NEW YORK BOSS GUITAR MAN”
DAVE FIELDS

GUITAR EDGE MAGAZINE Dave Rubin
"New York boss guitar man Dave Fields digs wider and deeper grooves than most contemporary blues artists as he rocks hard, rolls with rollicking R&B and swings like a zoot-suited jive cat."

BLUES HALL OF FAMER Hubert Sumlin
"When I first heard the band I knew they had something special. They were tight. When Dave plays he plays with such passion."

GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE Michael Molenda
“ALL WOUND UP is an enjoyable listen for both blues acolytes and casual club jumpers … an exhilarating concert experience if you ever get a chance to see Fields live.”

BLUES REVIEW Tom Hyslop
“Fields light voice is appealing, his guitar work… over the top”

ELMORE MAGAZINE Marc Weitzman
“…a superb guitarist with an over-the-top incendiary style. Thumbs up to another all-around killer album”

BIG CITY RHYTHM AND BLUES MAGAZINE Roger & Margaret White
“… pleasing vocals, heartfelt lyrics, strong guitar and keyboard work. He shows that even in the city that never sleeps you can have the blues."

BIO:

Dave Fields has been “burning up” the blues charts with his two CD’s TIME’S A WASTIN (2007) and the most recent ALL WOUND UP (2008) featuring XM Radio hit songs, “Still Itchin’” and “Train To My Heart”. Also having placed “Train To My Heart” on John Mayall’s new CD TOUGH. Dave has recently performed in Russia Moscow, Norway Oslo, Sardinia and Germany Kiel.

The terms “Renaissance man” and the “blues” will rarely appear in the same sentence. But master musician Dave Fields is truly a “Renaissance bluesman” of exceptional skills as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, producer and performer.

Dave was born in Manhattan but was raised by a nanny from Athens, Georgia. The experience would provide the rich, funky flavor of “grits, gravy and chitlins” to the sophisticated, urbane influence of his famous father, Sammy “Forever” Fields. Sammy is a virtuoso pianist and world-renown producer, arranger and composer with eclectic and refined tastes that run the gamut from fifties rock ‘n’ roll to jazz and beyond.

Dave has performed with the likes of Hubert Sumlin and Bobby Rush. He has most recently teamed up with Billy Gibson, “The Prince of Beale St”, and noted film maker-musician, Dave Hughes, to form the backbone of the Dave Fields band. Both CD’s have been an international success in such countries as France, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Holland and Australia. His worldwide appeal ranges from performances in New York City, Moscow, Sardinia, and San Diego. Dave Fields is truly “… a bright talent in the world of contemporary blues.” Sheryl and Don Crow MUSIC CITY BLUES.

Dave,

I'm Hairy Larry from Jonesboro, Arkansas. I've known Billy Gibson for years now. I first met him when he was playing at the Delta Blues Symposium at ASU. I recorded him for Something Blue. I think the last time I saw him was a few years back at Bunky's Breakfast where we play at the Helena festival.

Do you have any originals I could post on Delta Boogie Radio and include in my podcasts? Do you have any shows posted on the Live Music Archive?

Thanks,

Hairy Larry
