Tell us a little more about you in your own words (what you like, what instrument [if any] you play, etc).
As an accomplished engineer and musician, David is well rounded in many facets of the music industry. From recording, mixing, and producing artists, Davids wide range of knowledge in music and technology makes him a trusted name in the industry.
Philadelphia born Stoller began his journey into sound at the age of six when he began studying piano. Later he added the drums at the age of ten and began gigging by the age of thirteen. At the same time, David began assembling all of the necessary equipment to do live sound for his gigs and make demo recordings. By the time he was eighteen he was building his résumé engineering other jazz and rock bands through his own recording company DFXS Recording. He grew up studying jazz at Philadelphia's own Settlement Music School and continued his education post high school at Drexel University where he received a BS of music/business.
After graduating Drexel, David moved to New York City and was hired as an assistant engineer at Sony Music Studios. Here he assisted top industry professionals such as Joe Ferla (Paul Motian,John Scofield, Bill Frissell) ,Jim Cauruana (Beyoncé), Todd Whitelock (Wynton Marsalis, Steve Epstein), James Farber (Joe Lovano, Michael Brecker), and Jay Newland (Norah Jones) to name a few. Throughout his time at Sony, David worked on a wide variety of projects for major labels and independent artists as well. When Sony announced the studio was closing, David set out to open his own Recording studio called The Samurai Hotel in Brooklyn, NY.
