Vitali Imereli is one of the finest jazz violinists in the world. Born in Kutaisi, Georgia, Vitali Imereli began playing violin as a talented five-year-old at a music school, later completing his education in 1979 at the National Music Academy in Tbilisi. During the period 1979-85, Vitali taught violin at the Tbilisi Academy of Music. Since1978 he has performed at jazz festivals throughout the world,
In 1992, Vitali moved to Finland. he has made severalTV appearances and been a featured guest on radio. Vitali has played at the internationally renowned Pori Jazz Festival every year since 1991. May 1996 saw the release of his new album "Tribute to Staphane Grappelli".
In May and June of this year Vitali was on tour with Rosenberg Trio performing in Turku and Helsinki, then continuing on to the Kajaani, Alandia and Pori Jazz Festivals. Later in July he enjoyed successful performances with Didier Lockwood and Rosenberg Trio in a Tribute to Stephane Grappelli at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
Vitali has also played with Jack Hana, Art Blakey, Michael Urbaniak, Rosenberg Trio, Ulf Johansson, Bob Gulloti, Gipsy Kids, Daniel Walsh, Carlos Del Puerto, Didier Lockwood, Enrico Granafei and many more internationally acclaimed musicians.
